Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!!!!
Here are the announcements for the week of September 30th
Make sure you mark your calendars for Wednesday,October 9th (2:30-4:00pm) (5-8 p.m.) and Thursday, October 10th (9-11:30 a.m., 1:00-3:30 p.m., & 4:30-6:30 p.m.) for SRMS Parent/Teacher Conferences for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. There will be no school on Friday, October 11th due to a comp day / fall break for teachers. ALL conferences will be drop-in conferences.
Parents/Guardians,
We need your assistance in order to keep ALL of our students safe, as they unload and load to/from school. The North lot is designated as the parent drop off and pick up lot at Shadow Ridge, the south lot is designated as the transportation (buses transporting students) and staff lot. We need ALL parent vehicles to use the north lot and use the parking spaces, not in the "RED Fire Lane"...which needs to be accessed by emergency personnel in the case of an emergency. Cars have been backed up for hundreds of feet on north Holly Street due to cars parking in the RED Fire Lane. Please help us keep EVERY student safe by parking in the north lot and in the individual parking spaces!

Topic: Fall Back into Reading
As part of our Fall Back into Reading program each student has been gifted an independent reading book from the Fall Back into Reading Book Selection in their reading class. Independent reading is critical to student growth and achievement. We encourage you to support your student in their reading by asking them about their book and reminding them to read at home. Many thanks for your support in this endeavor!
Milk Caps for Moola!
Shadow Ridge is teaming up with Longmont Dairy to raise $$ money for our SRMS Special Education department! The money will go towards 2 Chromebook carts with a total of 20 Chromebooks for students with disabilities. Bring your Longmont Dairy Milk and OJ caps to the front office. Thank you for your contribution!
If you are interested in giving input on Shadow Ridge's School Improvement Plan, please attend UIP Community Input Meeting on October 7th at 4pm in the Media Center. You can also contact Cathy Seely or Jeremy King with questions or suggestions.
The Bionic Club is helping the Thornton Fire Department collect diapers for Diapers Awareness Month. Diapers will be distributed to families in need. If you would like to donate a package of diapers, please have your student bring them to Ms. Millard in the counseling department. We will collect diapers until September 30th. Thank you.
Are you in need of assistance this school year? At Shadow Ridge, your child will be given access to basic essentials such as coats, pants, and other clothing items, or hygiene products through our Precious Child Boutique. Please contact Debbie Millard at 720-972-5054 to learn more.

Padres de Familia/Tutores
Necesitamos su ayuda para proteger a todos nuestros estudiantes, a la hora que los dejan y también cuando los recogen de la escuela. El estacionamiento norte de Shadow Ridge Middle está designado para que los padres lo use para dejar y recoger estudiantes. El estacionamiento sur está designado para los camiones del transporte escolar asi como tambien es el estacionamiento para el personal de la escuela. Necesitamos que TODOS los vehículos de los padres de familia utilizan el estacionamiento norte y se estacionen en los espacios correspondientes y no en el “carril de la línea roja” el cual necesita estar despejado para casos de emergencia. No se estacione en el “carril de la línea roja” porque se hace un congestionamiento de carros hasta la calle Holly. GRACIAS por su apoyo para que Shadow Ridge sea una escuela segura!

Tema: Regresar a la lectura
Como parte de nuestro programa Fall Back to Reading, cada alumno ha recibido un libro de lectura independiente para su clase de lectura. La lectura independiente es crítica para el crecimiento y el aprovechamiento del estudiante. Le recomendamos que apoye a su alumno en su lectura preguntándole sobre su libro y recordando que lea en casa. ¡Muchas gracias por su apoyo en este esfuerzo!
Tapas de leche para Moola!
Shadow Ridge está asociándose con lácteos de Longmont para recaudar $$ dinero para nuestro Departamento de Educación Especial. El dinero recaudado será para comprar 2 carros con 20 Chromebooks para los estudiante con discapacidades. Traiga sus tapas de leche y jugo de Longmont lácteos a la oficina. Gracias por su apoyo!

El Club Bionic está ayudando al Departamento de Bomberos de Thornton en una colecta de pañales para Diapers Awareness Month. Los pañales se distribuirán a las familias necesitadas. Si desea donar un paquete de pañales, mandelos con su estudiante y entregenlos a la Sra. Millard en el departamento de consejería. Aceptaremos pañales hasta el 30 de septiembre. Gracias.
