Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!!!!
Here are the announcements for the week of October 29th

Parents and Guardians,
It is starting to cool off here in the Denver Metro area. We do go outside for lunch recess daily to allow the students to release stress and to get some fresh air. Please remind your student they will need a jacket when it is chilly outside, students should not bring blankets or quilts to share with their friends. Jackets are appropriate for students during the colder months of the year, blankets are not appropriate to bring to school and use in groups during lunch recess. Thank you.

The SRMS BIONIC Club (Believe it or Not I Care..) are collecting various items for Adams County Student Outreach Program. Items needed are, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, diapers, baby wipes, plastic grocery bags, socks, underwear, RTD bus coupons and jackets. Students can bring items to Mrs. Millard in the counseling office. The Student Outreach Program works with families in Adams County School District who are homeless, need help with insurance, need help with counseling and various other services. Thank you for your support.


Book Swap
Students who want to trade their fall reading books from for another title are invited to participate in a Book Swap. Students wanting to participate will need to bring their fall reading books from either this year or last year to their literacy teacher. The literacy teacher will then record the student’s name so they can go to the library and select from the Fall Back into Reading titles others have returned. Even though the book swap is not until October 30th students should start bring their books to their literacy teacher now.


We are excited to announce that the 2019 Shadow Ridge yearbook is now on sale. Make sure that your student doesn’t miss out on our yearbook tradition. It’s the only book that captures the year’s events, activities, friendships, experiences and memories from Shadow Ridge. The book is on sale until November 2nd for the lowest price. You may place your order for the yearbook at www.jostensyearbooks.com. If you have already purchased a book, thank you! This year’s book is one you won’t want to miss!

CMAS scores are available for students who were in district during the 2017-18 school year. If you did not pick up a hard copy this week at parent teacher conferences, you can request yours to be sent home with your student by contacting our registrar, Amy York, at (720) 972-5050 or emailing amy.york@adams12.org Scores are also available in your parent portal account."

Parents and Guardians,
Nutrition Services at Shadow Ridge Middle School will serving breakfast in the school cafeteria. The breakfast will run from 8-8:20 a.m. before school. The price of breakfast is $1.80 unless the student is receiving free or reduced meals. If the student is receiving free or reduced meals, the breakfast will be served to that student at no cost. This breakfast program is being piloted at Shadow Ridge for a few months prior to implementing it on a full-time basis or not serving breakfast, based on the demand. We want all of our students to have the opportunity to eat before school, this will assist students to focus on learning.

Padres de Familia y Tutores,
Está empezando a hacer frío en el área metropolitana de Denver. Los estudiantes salen a la hora del almuerzo y esto permite que los estudiante liberen el estrés y puedan obtener aire fresco. Por favor recuerde que su estudiante necesita una chaqueta cuando hace frío, los estudiantes no deben traer cobijas o edredones para compartir con sus amigos. Las chaquetas son apropiadas para los estudiantes durante los meses más fríos del año, las cobijas no son apropiadas para traer a la escuela y usar en grupos durante el recreo del almuerzo.

El Club BIONIC de SRMS está recopilando diversos artículos para el programa estudiantil del condado de Adams. Algunos artículos que se necesitan son de limpieza como papel higiénico, detergente, productos de higiene femenina, pañales, toallitas húmedas, bolsas de plástico, calcetines, ropa interior, cupones de autobús RTD y chaquetas. Los estudiantes pueden traer artículos a Sra. Millard a la oficina de consejería.El programa de extensión estudiantil trabaja con las familias en el distrito escolar del Condado de Adams que están sin hogar y que necesita ayuda con el seguro, ayuda con servicios de consejería así como también otros servicios. Gracias por su apoyo.


Intercambio de libros
Se invita a todos los estudiantes que quieran intercambiar su libro de otoño por otro libro a que participen en este evento llamado intercambio del libro. Los estudiantes que deseen participar tendrá que traer su libro de este año o del año pasado a su profesor de lectura. El profesor de lectura registrará el nombre del estudiante para que puedan ir a la biblioteca y seleccione un nuevo libro. El intercambio de libro no es hasta el 30 de octubre pero los estudiantes ya pueden empezar a traer sus libros y dárselo al profesor de lectura.


Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que el Anuario del 2019 de Shadow Ridge ya está a la venta. Asegúrese de que su estudiante no se pierda el tradicional Anuario. Es el único libro que captura todos los eventos, actividades, amistades, experiencias y recuerdos del año en Shadow Ridge. El anuario está a la venta hasta el 2 de noviembre, a un precio muy bajo. Los resultados de CMAS están disponibles para los estudiantes que estuvieron en el distrito durante el año escolar de 2017-18. Padres de Familia y Tutores,
Los servicios de nutrición en Shadow Ridge Middle School servirán desayuno en la cafetería de la escuela. El desayuno será de 8-8:20 antes de la escuela.
