Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!!!!Here are the announcements for the week of December 25th

Parents,The first semester will end on Thursday, December 21st. You will be able to view the academic progress your student has made in mid-January. Please know that we will not be sending home hard copies of a report card at this time; however, you may view your student's progress on Infinite Campus (IC) for year long classes. Elective quarter classes will have final grades posted on your student's account.Thank you.    Principal Wickham

After the holiday break, we will be implementing some changes to Ram Time. Students will no longer be allowed to play Cool Math Games. They may continue to complete projects/assignments on the computer as well as use Moby Max and Khan Academy. We will also be closing the doors for morning Ram Time at 8:00 am. Students will not be allowed to enter after that time.

El primer semestre finalizará el jueves, 21 de diciembre. Podrás ver el progreso académico que tu estudiante ha hecho a mediados de enero. Por favor, esté enterado que no enviaremos a casa reportes de calificaciones; pero podrás ver el progreso académico de tu estudiante en Infinite Campus (IC) para las clases durante el año. Las clases optativas de cuarto tendrán calificaciones finales publicadas en el portal de Infinite Campus (IC).

Después de las vacaciones, implementaremos algunos cambios a Ram Time. Los alumnos ya no podrán jugar juegos de matemáticas. Puede continuar haciendo proyectos o asignaciones en la computadora, así como utilizar Moby Max y Kahn Academy. Nos cerraremos las puertas de Ram time por la mañana a las 8:00 am. Los alumnos no podrán entrar después de esa hora.

We need your assistance in order to keep ALL of our students safe, as they unload and load to/from school. The North lot is designated as the parent drop off and pick up lot at Shadow Ridge. We need ALL vehicles in the north lot to park in the parking spaces, not in the "RED Fire Lane"...which needs to be accessed by emergency personnel in the case of an emergency. Upon arrival into the north parking lot, we need each individual vehicle to park in an individual vehicle space. Cars have been backed up for hundreds of feet on north Holly Street due to cars parking in the RED Fire Lane and not parking in the individual parking spaces.

Shadow Ridge Middle School is proud to present our fall musical The Addams Family. A hilarious comedy based on the beloved television show from the 1960's. Our students have been working very hard at putting together this show and we would love to see all of you there to support us. Our show dates and times are:

Saturday, December 9, at 2:00 pm and again at 7:00 pm.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $5.00 for adults and 3.00 for students.

Shadow Ridge Middle School se complace en presentar el musical de otoño, La Familia Addams.  Una divertida comedia basada en el programa de televisión de la década de 1960. Nuestros estudiantes han estado trabajando muy duro en montar este espectáculo y nos encantaría que nos apoyaran con su compañía. El horario será el siguiente:viernes, diciembre 8 a las 7:00 pm y el sábado, diciembre 9 a las 2:00 de la tarde y 7:00 pm. High School information nights are Nov 14 and 16 at the Educational Support Center, 1500 east 128th Ave. Starting at 5:45pm-7:10pm .  Please arrive promptly to avoid missing any important information. Come learn about programs, meet administration and counselors and get your questions answered and to discuss the programs offered at each school.

The next Community Night for Shadow Ridge Middle School will be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Media Center. We will showcase the art, drama, Spanish, music, PE/health, and technology departments. Free babysitting will be provided.

Estas son las noticias de la semana de octubre 30

Estimados Padres de Familia, Guardianes y estudiantes,

La orden de productos congelados/masa para galletas llegará a shadow Ridge Middle School el miércoles noviembre 1er y será distribuida para que la recojan entre 2:15- 5:00 pm.  Por favor hagan los arreglos necesarios para recoger sus productos durante este horario.  Contacten al Sr. Donin si tienen preguntas al 720-972-5045

Atención Padres de familia de estudiantes de 7th grado.  La semana pasada todos los maestro ha mandado a casa los reporte de progreso  para cada estudiante. Si usted no los ha recibido, por favor pregunte a su hijo/a que se los muestren.  Gracias.

Shadow Ridge Middle School tendrá su baile de otoño, el viernes 3 de noviembre de 6 a 8 pm. El costo será de $5. El baile es únicamente para los estudiantes de Shadow Ridge Middle School.

Padres de Familia y/o Tutores,

Necesitamos su ayuda para proteger a todos nuestros estudiantes, cuando se suben y se bajan de los carros en la escuela. El estacionamiento norte está designado para que los padres de familia lo usen para dejar y recoger a los estudiantes de Shadow Ridge. Necesitamos que TODOS los vehículos en el estacionamiento norte se estacionen en los espacios correspondientes, y no en el “carril de la línea roja” ...el cual necesita estar despejado en caso de emergencia.  Al llegar al estacionamiento norte, necesitamos que CADA vehículo se estacione en un estacionamiento y no se estacione en el carril de la línea roja porque se hace un congestionamiento de carros hasta la calle Holly.  GRACIAS por su apoyo para que Shadow Ridge sea una escuela segura!

Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!!!!

Here are the announcements for the week of October 16th

6th grade parents:

As we approach the beginning of the second quarter we will have some schedule changes. Many students will change into a different quarter elective class while some students will see some movement within their core classes, for example a student, may move from 1st hour math to 2nd hour math. For the last few years SRMS has waited until the start of the second quarter to transition 6th grade students into honors courses, with the exception of math.  We wait until the second quarter to allow our teachers time to get to know students and their academic abilities to help determine whether they are prepared for the academic rigor that comes with an honors class.  Students are placed into honors classes based on a body of evidence that includes past test performances on both PARCC and MAPs, past and present grade level performances and current ability levels as observed by 6th grade teachers.  If your student is being moved into an Honors Science, Reading, or Writing class at the beginning of the quarter, you will be notified by a teacher. Parents will not be notified of any changes that don't involve students transitioning into honors courses.  Although we always try to keep schedule changes to a minimum, some changes are necessary to best meet the needs of all our students.

The next Community Night for Shadow Ridge Middle School will be held on Tuesday, October 17th from 5:30 to 6:30 in the Media Center. We will showcase the reading, writing, and ESL departments. Free babysitting will be provided.

There will be an informational meeting from 4:00 to 4:15 in the gym on Tuesday October 17th for any students interested in intramural volleyball. The first practice will be Monday October 23rd. Students must have an intramural permission slip turned into Mr. Mooney to participate.

Estas son las noticias de la semana de octubre 16

Padres de Familia de 6to grado

Al acercarse el comienzo del segundo cuatrimestre tendremos algunos cambios en los horarios. Muchos estudiantes tendrán una nueva clase electiva mientras otros estudiantes serán transferidos a otros grupos, por ejemplo un estudiantes podrá ser transferido de primera hora de matemáticas a segunda hora de matemáticas.  En los últimos año SRMS se ha esperado hasta el inicio del segundo cuatrimestre para hacer la transición de los estudiantes de sexto grado a los cursos de honores, con la excepción de matemáticas. Nos esperamos hasta el segundo cuatrimestre para que los maestros tengan tiempo de conocer a sus estudiantes y sus habilidades académicas para poder determinar si están preparados para el rigor académico que se requiere en las clases de honor. Los estudiantes son colocados en las clases de honores basándose en evidencia que los maestros de 6to grado han observado en pruebas previas de PARCC y MAPS así como su desempeño actual. Si su estudiantes va a ser transferido a una clase de Honores de Ciencias, Lectura ó Escritura al principio de este cuatrimestre, usted recibirá una notificación del maestro. Solamente se les notificará a los padres de familia que su hijo/a vaya a entrar a un curso de honores.

La próxima noche de la comunidad de Shadow Ridge será el 17 de octubre de 5:30 a 6:30 p.m. en la biblioteca.  El departamento de lectura, escritura y ESL harán la presentación. Tendremos servicio gratis para el cuidado de los niños.

Habrá una reunión informativa de 4:00 a 4:15 en el gimnasio el martes 17 de octubre para cualquier estudiante interesado en voleibol intramuros.  La primera práctica será el lunes 23 de octubre. Los estudiantes para poder participar deberán tener el permiso de intramuros firmado y se lo deben entregar al Señor Mooney.
