Week of May 4th

Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!
Here are the announcements for the week of May 4th:

End of the year PARCC testing schedule for 7th Grade is Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th. Parents please do not schedule any appointments during our testing times. Students be sure to get plenty of rest the night before, eat a healthy breakfast and be on time for school. Happy Testing !

If your student is interested in travelling to Washington DC as an 8th grader next year and you were unable to attend the Introductory meeting, please visit the school website under the “Students” tab and then “Clubs and Activities” link then to “Washington DC Trip” link or contact Mr. Smith for all trip and registration information.

The 7th, 8th grade and Jazz band concert scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th has been rescheduled. The new date is Monday, May 11th. The start time is still at 6:45. A note with more details was handed out to band students last week.

If your student is participating in Battle of the Books this year, there will be one last practice next week before the final competition in May. We will go through another round of practice questions and discuss the specifics of the final competition. Snacks will be provided.

Week of April 20th

Here are the announcements for the week of April 20th :

Spring Play “This is Just to Say” by Julia C. Bond is April 23rd, 24th and 25th at 7 pm.

There will be a meeting for all 7th grade students interested in going on the 2016 8th grade Shadow Ridge Washington D.C. trip on Tuesday April 28th at 6pm in the Shadow Ridge Library. The introductory meeting will last about 45 minutes. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Smith.

Message from kitchen staff:
Students who have balances or who owe charges in their lunch account at the end of the year will have that balance or charge rolled over into next year. If your student is changing schools his/her balance or charge will follow him to his new school. However, if you would like to have the balance refunded to you, please contact your kitchen manager. Refunds begin on May 12. The last day for refunds is May 26 at noon.

Be aware that your school office cannot do refunds for the Lunch Program. Please see your kitchen manager.

In order to get our financial house in order, there can be no negative balance charges as of May 5 at the MIDDLE schools and May 19 at the ELEMENTARY schools.

We have sincerely enjoyed having your student eat with us. We look forward to serving your student nutritious meals again next year. Thank you for your support of our program!

Parking Lot Procedures:
We need everyone’s cooperation with parking lot traffic. We have two parking lots. The north lot (closer to Horizon HS) is for parents to drop off and pick up their students and to park in during the day. The south lot (closer to 120th) is for the District 12 Buses to drop off and pick up students and for teachers to park in during the day. It is imperative that we have the parents drop off/pick up your students in the north lot, especially before school (from 7:45 – 8:23 a.m.) and after school (from 3:23 – 3:45 p.m.).

Si su hijo está cambiando escuelas su saldo o cargo lo seguirán a su escuela nueva. Sin embargo, si usted quisiera que su saldo reembolsado, por favor póngase en contacto con la oficina de la cocina. Los reembolsos comienzan el 12 de mayo. El último día de los reembolsos es el 26 de mayo a mediodía.

CMAS testing will be held in mid-April. Students will be tested unless the student is absent or parent has signed the opt out form prior to the test.

Attention all current 8th grade students who will be attending Thornton High and interested in trying out for the Thornton High School Cheerleading team: We will be having our parent information meeting on Monday, April 6th, 2015 at 6pm in the Thornton High cafeteria. 

Show off your school spirit during spirit week, this week, April 6th-9th.
Monday - Professional Sports Day - Jerseys allowed!
Tuesday - Zombie Day
Wednesday - RAMS Day - Wear your purple, black and white!
Thursday - TBT (Throw Back Thursday) - Wear anything from past decades.
Items will be sold before school on Tuesday and Wednesday. Prices will range from 50c to $1.00.

Friday, April 10th No School (Comp Day)

Spring Play “This is Just to Say” by Julia C. Bond is on April 23rd, 24th and 25th at 7 pm.

RAMS RECOVERY TIME – Help us help your child and improve his/her achievement. Teachers will be available the first, second, and third Wednesday of the month from 2:20-3:00 p.m. in individual classrooms for assessment make-ups and help. Transportation will not be provided. Students will need to make transportation arrangements with their parents/guardians.

Se venderán productos costando $0.50 hasta $1 antes de escuela el martes y el miércoles.

No hay clases el 10 de abril.

RAMS RECOVERY TIME. Ayúdanos ayudar a los estudiantes a mejorar su rendimiento académico.
