Week of May 2nd

Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!
Here are the announcements for the week of May 2nd:

News from the Shadow Ridge Library - It is the end of the year and ALL library books are due Friday, May 6th. Please remind your student to get all library books returned.

Shadow Ridge Library is having a book fair, May 9th - May 12th. This is a "Buy One, Get One Free" book fair. Buy one book, get a second book free! (Free book is the lowest priced item.) The book fair will be open during school hours. Stop by and find a new book to read for the summer.

Message from Mr. Sanford:

The 6th Grade band concert which was scheduled for April 26th has been rescheduled for Monday May 9th. This is the same night as the 7th and 8th grade band concert. Both concerts will be in the SRM's gymnasium.

Here is how it will work;

The 6th grade will need to arrive at 6pm. The concert will begin at 6:30 and end at around 6:50-7pm.

The 7th and 8th graders (including Jazz band members) will arrive at 7pm. They will begin their concert at 7:30pm. They should be finished about 8:15-8:30pm.

I realize when something is rescheduled, that some families may not be able to participate due to previous plans. All I ask is that you excuse your child by note, phone call or e-mail as soon as you know. If you do this before the last week of school, it will not affect your child’s grade.

I hope that this will work for you. We don’t have a lot of options this late in the year. Thank you for understanding.

Due to weather, the field trip to the Weather and Science/Rockies Game for WEB Leaders, NJHS, and Student Council has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 11th. If your student was going on the field trip, please mark your calendar for May 11th. Parents please send a note with your student acknowledging your student has permission to attend. Have your student give the note to his/her club's leader ASAP.  Any questions, please contact the club coordinators.

Transitioning Student Fees:
All transitioning students in grades 5, 8, and 12 must have all of their balances paid before moving into the next level of school. All student fees are due and any outstanding fees should be paid in full by the end of the school year. Payment can be made online by PayForit or pay directly to the school by check, cash or credit card or pay directly to Adams 12, Account Receivable at 1500 E. 128th Ave. Thornton, Co. 80241.  When using a check for payment, you must include a phone number and the student name or number or household number.

Current 7th grade students interested in going to Washington DC next year as an 8th grader need to attend an introductory meeting with their parents on Thursday May 5th at 6:00 pm in the A118. We will go over registration procedures as well as fundraising and scholarship opportunities for the summer. If you have any questions please contact Mr. Smith.

A message from Nutrition Services and Kitchen Staff:
Students who have balances or who owe charges in their lunch account at the end of the year will have that balance or charge rolled over into next year. If your student is changing schools the balance or charge will follow them to their new school, with the exception of charter schools. If you would like to have the balance refunded to you, please contact your kitchen manager. Be aware that the school office cannot do refunds for the Lunch Program. Please see the kitchen manager. In order to get our financial house in order, there can be no negative balance charges as of May 12 at MIDDLE schools and May 19 at ELEMENTARY schools. Please ensure your child has appropriate funds for purchases as of these dates. Free and K-5 reduced price students will not require any funds. We have sincerely enjoyed having your student eat with us. We look forward to serving your student nutritious meals again next year. Thank you for your support of our program!

Wednesday  May 25th is the last day of school for 8th grade and no school for 6th and 7th grade.
Thursday May 26th is the last day of school for 6th and 7th grade.

Go Rams!
