Week of April 25th

Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!
Here are the announcements for the week of April 25th:

Message from Mr. Sanford
The 6th grade band will perform in their final concert on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the Shadow Ridge Gymnasium. The 6th Grade choir will perform a concert in the Shadow Ridge cafetorium on Wednesday, April 27th at 7:00 p.m. Both the students and I are looking forward to seeing you!

Spirit Week is this week, Monday, April 25th thru Friday, April 29th! Each day will have a theme:
Monday - Show your Shadow Ridge Spirit
Tuesday - Super Hero Day
Wednesday - Aloha Hawaiian Day
Thursday - Zombie Day
Friday - Rock Your Team Color Day

Thursday, April 28th has been designated as Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Participation forms have been sent home with your student, and are also available on our website. If your student will be participating in this event and you have not turned in the form yet, please fill it out and return it to the office. A phone call to the attendance line is NOT necessary if you have completed and turned in the form.

A message from Nutrition Services and the Kitchen Staff:
Students who have balances or who owe charges in their lunch account at the end of the year will have that balance or charge rolled over into next year. If your student is changing schools the balance or charge will follow them to their new school, with the exception of charter schools. If you would like to have the balance refunded to you, please contact your kitchen manager. Be aware that the school office cannot do refunds for the Lunch Program.  Please see the kitchen manager.
In order to get our financial house in order, there can be no negative balance charges as of May 12 at MIDDLE schools and May 19 at ELEMENTARY schools. Please ensure your child has appropriate funds for purchases as of these dates. Free and K-5 reduced price students will not require any funds.
We have sincerely enjoyed having your student eat with us. We look forward to serving your student nutritious meals again next year. Thank you for your support of our program!

Current 7th grade students interested in going to Washington DC next year as an 8th grader need to attend an introductory meeting with their parents on Thursday May 5th at 6pm in the school library. We will go over registration process as well as fundraising and scholarship opportunities for the summer. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Smith.

There is a correction to calendar in the Shadow Ridge planner. On Wednesday, May 25th, it is the last day for 8th grade and no school for 6th and 7th grade. On Thursday, May 26th, it is the last day for 6th and 7th grade and no school for 8th grade. On Friday, May 27th, there is no school for all students since summer break begins.

Estos son los anuncios para la semana del 25 de abril:

Mensaje por parte del Sr. Sanford:
La banda de sexto grado se llevará a cabo en su último concierto el martes 26 de abril a las 7pm en el gimnasio de la escuela. El concierto de coro del sexto grado se llevará a cabo el miércoles 27 de abril a las 7pm en la cafeteria de la escuela. Tanto los estudiantes como yo esperamos su visita!

La semana de espíritu escolar es esta semana, lunes 25 de abril hasta el viernes 29 de abril. Cada día tendrá su tema:
Lunes - mostrar su entusiamo para la escuela
Martes - día del superhéroe
Miércoles - Día de Hawai
Jueves - Día del zombi
Viernes – Vestirse de su color designado

El jueves, 28 de abril ha sido designado como Take Your Child to Work Day o sea el día de llevar a su hijo o hija al trabajo. Los formularios fueron enviados a casa con su hijo la semana pasada, y están disponibles en nuestro sitio web. Si su hijo o hija va a participar en este evento, necesitaremos el formulario completado y devuelto a la escuela antes el jueves, 21 de abril. Una llamada no es necesario si se ha completado y devuelto el formulario.

Un mensaje del servicio de nutrición y el personal de cocina:
Los estudiantes que tienen saldos o que deben dinero en su cuenta de almuerzo al final del año escolar tendrán ese saldo o cargo en su cuenta para el próximo año escolar. Si su hijo está cambiando escuelas su saldo o cargo lo seguirán a su escuela nueva con la excepción de las escuelas autónomas. Sin embargo, si usted quisiera que su saldo sea reembolsado, por favor póngase en contacto con la oficina de la cocina. Tenga en cuenta que la oficina de la escuela no puede hacer los reembolsos. Por favor, vea el gerente de la cocina.  En poner nuestra casa financiera en orden, no puede haber cargos negativos empezando el 12 de mayo en las escuelas intermedias y el 19 de mayo en las escuelas primarias.  Asegúrese de que su hijo tiene los fondos apropiados para las compras a partir de estas fechas. Los estudiantes que reciben almuerzos gratis o reducidos no requerirán ningún fondos.
Hemos disfrutado sinceramente que su estudiante comió en nuestra cafeteria. Esperamos a servir a los estudiantes comidas nutritivas de nuevo para el próximo año escolar. Gracias por su apoyo a nuestro programa!

Estudiantes del septimo grado que queren ir al viaje a Washington DC para el proximo año escolar necesitan asistir una junta con sus padres el jueves 5 de mayo a las 6pm en la biblioteca de la escuela. Vamos hablar sobre el proceso de matriculacion y oportunidades de recaudar fondos durante el verano. Por favor de comunicarse con el Sr Smith si tiene alguna pregunta.

Hay una corrección al calendario de la escuela. El miércoles, 25 de mayo es el último día de octavo grado y no hay clases para los de sexto y septimo grado. El jueves, 26 de mayo es el último día para los de sexto y septimo grado y no hay clases para los de octavo grado. El viernes, 27 de mayo no hay clases para los estudiantes y sus vacaciones de verano comienzan.
