Week of Oct 19th

Hello Shadow Ridge Parents and Guardians!
Here are the announcements for the week of October 19th:

Parents, if you did not attend the recent Parent/Teacher Conferences, your student will be bringing home on Tuesday, October 20th their Fall MAP scores along with their progress reports for yearlong classes.

Attention parents of 7th graders. On October 23rd, the 7th grade will be going on a field trip to the campus of the University of Colorado at Denver. Permission slips and information about the field trip will be going home on Thursday Oct 8th and need to be returned by October 16th. We need as many parent volunteers as possible to come on the field trip with us. If you are available to come please fill out the volunteer section of the permission form and return it to school as soon as possible. Contact Nancy Davis the 7th grade counselor with questions about volunteering and/or to let her know you want to volunteer at 720-972-5054 or nancy.davis@adams12.org. Students will need to have a lunch. They can either bring one, purchase one from our school or purchase one on campus as we will be eating at the student union. Also, if a student receives a referral between Oct 1st and the day of the field trip they will be ineligible to attend and will be required to stay and work at school that day.

Our next Community Night will be Tuesday, October 20th. Our Reading, Writing, and ELD/ESL departments will be presenting. Community Night is from 5:30-6:30 pm and takes place in the Shadow Ridge Library. Babysitting will be available.

Shadow Ridge will hold its 3rd Annual Science Fair on Friday, December 11, 2015. We are in need of community judges to help evaluate the students' work. If you or someone you know may be interested in judging please contact Mrs. Husic for more information.

Helping our students stay healthy is a fundamental part of the mission at Shadow Ridge Middle School. The health of our students can be directly linked to their academic success and can also help in the prevention or reduction in risk behaviors and health problems. This year, Shadow Ridge will be forming a school wellness team comprised of representatives from the whole school community whose goal will be to address Shadow Ridge's specific needs in relation to our school's health.

Estos son los anuncios para la semana del 19 de octubre:

Si usted no asistió a las conferencias recientes, su estudiante va a traer a casa el martes 20 de octubre sus puntuaciones de otoño para MAPS junto con sus informes de progreso para las clases de un año de duración.

Atención padres de alumnos del septimo grado: el 23 de octubre, los de septimo grado va asistir un viaje de campo a la Universidad de Colorado en Denver. Los permisos y la información sobre el viaje los mandaron a la casa el jueves 8 de octubre y tienen que ser devueltos antes del 16 de octubre. Necesitamos bastantes padres voluntarios para supervisar. Si usted está disponible, por favor complete la sección de voluntarios de la forma de permiso y devolverlo a la escuela lo más pronto posible. Póngase en contacto con Nancy Davis la consejera del séptimo grado con cualquier pregunta en 720-972-5054 o nancy.davis@adams12.org. Los estudiantes tendrán que traer o compra un almuerzo en nuestra escuela o comprar uno en la Universidad. Además, si un estudiante recibe un escrito de diciplina entre el 1 de octubre y el día del viaje de campo no serán elegibles para asistir y serán obligados a permanecer y trabajar en la escuela ese día.


Nuestra próxima noche de la comunidad será el martes 20 de octubre de 5:30-6:30 pm en la biblioteca de la escuela. Nuestros departamentos de lectura, escritura, y ingles como segunda idioma estarán presentando. Cuidado de niños estará disponible.

Shadow Ridge celebrará su tercera Feria de Ciencias el viernes, 11 de diciembre. Estamos en necesidad de jueces voluntarios para nuestra Feria de la Ciencias. Si está interesado y desea obtener más información, por favor comuníquese con la Sra Husic.

Nuestra misión va ser cómo ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a mantenerse saludable.. La salud de nuestros estudiantes puede estar directamente relacionado con su éxito académico y también puede ayudar en la prevención o reducción de los comportamientos de riesgo y problemas de salud. Este año, la escula estará formando un equipo de bienestar escolar compuesto por representantes de toda la comunidad escolar, cuyo objetivo será el de atender las necesidades específicas de la escuela en relación con la salud de nuestra escuela.
